Keep Calm and Carry On

I think I did better than I expected in Phase 2. At first, learning all the different formulas and advanced features in Excel felt a little intimidating. In the end, I learned a lot and even passed the MO-210 Excel certification exam with a high score! Working on A4, A5, and A6 was a nice change of pace as it required some critical thinking. I had to read the instructions carefully and kept trying out different formulas until I got certain ones right, which felt very rewarding.

From Chapter 5, section 5.2.3, the Templates and Themes feature is something I’ve actually used outside of class. So far, I’ve only played around with the personal budget and calendar templates. It’s a great tool as it gives you a good starting point for whatever kind of spreadsheet you need, and then you can adjust the colors and themes to your liking.

I picked up a lot from what I have learned from Excel that I can definitely use at work when I’m dealing with spreadsheets. We don’t really use Excel to its full potential, so it’ll be a great opportunity now to tidy things up and make our spreadsheets look more polished.

I’ll be honest, these past few weeks have been a bit rough. Phase 2 turned out to be more challenging than I expected, and my other class has been picking up steam too. Time management has been a struggle since day one, but now as we’re heading towards the end of the semester, I’m taking it as a chance to improve, finish strong, and to drink more coffee.

We needed to pay attention to detail and read carefully to complete A4-A6. But it sure did feel rewarding when completed.

  6. Hi Chandler! Accomplishing A4-A6 honestly did feel very rewarding, so it's quite nice knowing others felt the same way about it! Planning and polishing always makes a difference in the work place, so kuddos to you on being able to reinforce your knowledge with your work tasks. I know we all start feeling the cram of the last few weeks, but I've heard your accolades, and I know you are going to absolutely rock it! Best of luck with that caffeine though!

  7. Hi Chandler Donovan! A4, A5, and A6 definitely required us to use our critical thinking skills. I am glad that you were able to pick up on the lessons for Excel and passed MO-210 with a high score. Good job! I have also been struggling with my other classes picking up in the amount of assignments due and it has been tough to try to fit it all in. An extra cup of coffee is absolutely needed.

  8. Hey Chandler, I found Phase 2 more challenging than Phase 1, but I’ve learned a lot about Excel that I’m excited to use and share with others. We’re almost at the end of the semester, and that’s the main thing keeping me going because it feels like I’m constantly running out of time.

  9. Nice, congrats on passing MO-210, MO-310, and recently passing MO-111. I don’t know how easy or hard that exam was for you, but I can tell you it wasn’t too bad, except for some tasks that required multiple steps to accomplish one thing.

I wish you luck with the last expert exam! You got this!

  12. All the formulas to learn were for sure intimidating, but after practicing and learning it just becomes easier. I kept messing up on the instructions so it took me a while to complete the assignments but after completing them does feel rewarding. Glad you will use excel at work to continue practicing your new skills and making them more polished. Coffee is always delicious and a huge help!
