Here we are in Phase 2, and what a journey it has been so far! I think I did alright during Phase 1. The first week was a little rough as it took me some time to get back into the routine of school, and I ended up completing assignments close to the due date. For future phases, I want to improve my study habits by avoiding late-night homework sessions like I did in Phase 1. To achieve this, I plan to start working on assignments right after getting off work.
The text selection tool is a simple yet helpful feature that I’ve used frequently outside of IS101. I used to highlight single words by clicking and dragging the mouse, but double-clicking a word is a much quicker shortcut. I also recently discovered that triple-clicking any word within a paragraph selects the entire paragraph.
To prepare for the MO-110 Word certification exam, I will review LabSim and focus on topics I struggled with or didn’t fully grasp during the lessons. I also plan to get a good night’s rest so my mind is well-rested for the test!
Let’s see... anything else I’d like to share with the World Wide Web? I think I am going to need some more coffee...
Haha, I need more coffee too, Chandler Donovan :-)
ReplyDeleteExcellent change of habit, start working on IS101 coursework sooner than later will take the stress off missing a deadline and let you focus on the coursework instead of rushing through it!
Yes, the triple-click is a rarely assigned command, at least in the Windows operating system world. Glad you learned an easy way how to select an entire paragraph in Microsoft Word ^_^
Hey Chandler,
ReplyDeleteI really liked reading your post! I totally relate to those late-night homework sessions. I’ve had my fair share of them during Phase 1 too. Starting your assignments right after work sounds like a smart move. Hopefully it makes things a lot less stressful.
That text selection shortcut blew my mind too when I first discovered it. It’s such a small trick but makes editing way faster. Triple-clicking has officially become part of my routine now haha! ^-^
A good night's sleep and rest sure sounds like the way to go before showing up for the Certification Exam. I should try that next time.
ReplyDeleteLearning these shortcuts makes life much more easier.
Indeed, it has been quite the journey. The goal of getting assignments done still counts even when it's down to the wire. Late night homework session are the worst, I find myself at times zoning out just looking at the URL of what I am studying at times.
ReplyDeleteI totally get the late-night homework struggle since I sometimes have to wait for my kiddos to be down before I can get my assignments done. Late-night homework has kind of become my usual—thank goodness for coffee! But I love how you're planning to start assignments earlier. The text selection tips are super useful too. I bet you did well on your MO-110 prep, and don’t forget to get some rest!
ReplyDeleteHi Chandler,
ReplyDeleteLove the positive attitude and self-awareness! It's great that you're reflecting on your habits and making a solid plan to improve in Phase 2. Those text selection shortcuts are game-changers, so simple but super effective. Wishing you the best of luck ... and yes man!, coffee sounds like a great idea!
Hello Donovan!
ReplyDeleteI feel you trying to stay ahead of assignments. I also cut it close to the due dates. Doing assignments after work is ideal for me, but sometimes, I get drained quickly when starting homework right after work.
Coffee is a must! There times were I feel a cup of coffee can help me lock into my assignments when starting classwork.
Hi Chandler!! I think coffee is always a good answer! Yup, totally on board with you about the text selection, it almost feels like an illegal shortcut. Late-night study sessions always feel juxtaposing, on one hand, all I can do is crave sleep and rest, but for some reason, it's the only time when my brain can actually feel awake enough to put two and two together.
ReplyDeleteI totally feel you on the late-night homework sessions been there! Starting assignments right after work sounds like a great plan. And yes, those text selection shortcuts are game-changers! Triple-clicking to select a whole paragraph blew my mind too. Good luck on the MO-110 exam and yes, more coffee is always the answer
ReplyDeleteHi Chandler Donovan! I have fell victim to the late-night homework sessions too (especially here recently). Starting homework right after work is definitely helpful and prevents me from getting stuck feeling unmotivated at times. I think your plan to start working on homework earlier will be beneficial. Text selection is very useful and helps save a ton of time.
ReplyDeleteHey Chandler, many times I have completed assignments the day of or even late, and that is not fun. I wish you the best in Phase 2, and I hope there are fewer late-night homework sessions.
ReplyDeleteHi Chandler, I love your background, i'm guessing its a Japanese Garden? Anyways, I too need to improve my study habbits because I tend to fall behind and stress out when I need to get my assignments done. Although I don't drink coffee, I do need more caffeine hehehe.
ReplyDeleteHi, this class has been going by fast. My study habits need improvement but thankfully I was able to pass my exams.
ReplyDeleteI totally understand! I too tend to work late at night on my homework and every time I just wake up super tired and I don't fully retain the information I'm learning. This inspired me to maybe make a change as well!
ReplyDeleteGetting into the routine of school again can be tough but it's worth it. Coffee definitely helps all the time ๐
